American Royal Rubs and Sauces

American Royal began in October 1899 as the National Hereford Show, held in a tent in Kansas City and featuring 541 registered Hereford cattle. In 1905 the first official American Royal Horse Show opened, with the help of trainer Tom Bass. Today American Royal features several horse shows varying in nature.
The first American Royal Barbecue Contest was held in 1980 and, to this day, The World Series of Barbecue® serves as the largest fundraiser for the American Royal.
Each year American Royal host both a Rub Contest and a Sauce Contest to name the best rub and sauce 'on the Planet', meaning that each rub and sauce American Royal produce is created by a different team.
