The Differences between aGenesis®II andGenesis®II LX barbecue

Much More than doors.

We often get asked what the difference is between theWeber Genesis®II and theWeber Genesis®II-LX ranges.
“Is it just some doors and a side burner?” we often hear customers say. No, it isn’t it is much more than just that.

In this blog, we are going to tell you what makes the Genesis® II LX stand out from the crowd, and hopefully help you make the decision of whether it is the right barbecue for you.

Genesis LX

Sizzling Sauce.

As you can read above, some of the most significant differences between the ranges is that the Genesis® II-LX comes equipped with doors, to create an enclosed storage space underneath the barbecue, as well as a gas side burner, perfect for finishing off sauces, pre-boiling corn on the cob, and essentially moving the functions of your kitchen outside.

Another obvious difference is that the LX range offers a choice of the black enamel or stainless steel finish.

Fantastic Flavourizer Bars®.

Going on to something else which sets the Genesis® II LX apart, is that it comes equipped with stainless steel Flavourizer bars® which will keep you going for many years to come. These differ from the those of a normal Genesis® II, which are made from porcelain enamel.

Weber Genesis Flavourizer Bars

Easy Igniting and High-Performance Burners.

For easy lighting, the LX range has the ignition built into each individual burner.
Furthermore, it also has a high+ burner setting, which will give you a boost of heat.
Perfect for when you want to get those steaks seared and cooked to perfection in no time.

Take your Cooking to 'New Levels'.

The ETCS® system, or Elevation Tiered Cooking System to you and me, is built into the warming rack of the Genesis® II LX range. This means that it has two extra horizontal bars added to the warming rack, making it possible to elevate your cooking. Parts for the ETCS® system is sold separately but include Stainless Steel skewers, a chicken drumstick holder/rack and a vegetable basket. This means you can get even more food cooking on the barbecue, by literally taking your cooking to 'new levels'. As a result of the system being built in, the lid of an LX is higher than that of a standard Genesis II, giving space to comfortably use the tiered system.

A 'Bright Idea'

You could say that the final difference between the Genesis® II and Genesis® II LX is one of Webers ‘Bright Ideas’! It’s illuminated Control Knobs and Handle lights!
These are perfect for when you are cooking out in the dark, allowing you to see what setting your burners are at, as well as illuminating your cooking area.
The smart thing about the handle lights is, that they will recognize when the lid is being opened or closed and turn themselves on or off.
We do like to think of it rather like the light in the fridge, it makes it easier to make a midnight snack!

So there you have it, those are the features that separate the Genesis® II Lx from the standard Genesis® II range.
