Portuguese inspired BBQ rub, ideal for chicken, pork, prawns and fish. Recreate that famous Portuguese dish with this spicy blend, designed for chicken & prawns, grilled or barbecued. We love Portugal and we even got married in a farmhouse close to Lagos back in 2012. The Smokey Carter was launched in 2013 and it wasn’t long before our Piri Piri Rub became a customer favourite. We also use the best Portuguese oregano in this blend, which we source directly from a farm where it grows organically in the orchard.
Piri Piri chicken is everyone’s favourite treat and for the simplest dish, simply flatten out a chicken breast, dust with our Piri Piri BBQ Rub and pan fry in a little oil.
- Ideal pairing to chicken – rub over thighs, breast, spatchcock and whole rotisserie chicken.
- Marinade pork or chicken shawarma.
- A must with pan fried or BBQ pork chops.
- Mix with flour for deep fried chicken.
- Add into piri piri style rice.
- Dust into vegetable stir fries.
